Gordon’s immigrants

Immigration is back on the forefront of British politics, with figures showing how up to 1.5 million new immigrants might have come to Britain since EU enlargement in 2004. The Tories, needless to say, are trying to use the issue against Labour; but Brown should not be shy about those numbers: that the British economy was able to accommodate so many new workers in such a short period of time is something that the Chancellor can and should boast about.
